Viral: Warty Pig attacked Hiker after Hiker attempts touch it.

Wild Pigs or commonly known in the Philippines as "Baboy Ramo" are known to be found in the premises of Mt. Apo, the highest peak of the Philippines.

A wild pig is said to be trapped by the local tribe and escaped having an ill-joint feet, and has been staying on a place just below the summit of Mt. Apo. It is to be found just along the trail going to Lake Venado.

On May 28, 2022, several groups of hikers stopped over to check it out and gave foods to the hungry Wild Pig, took photos and are happy to meet him.

Out of the many, one curious hiker tried to touch it, slowly, like any other animals you want to pet on your first encounter. However, the wild pig, as it's nature, attacked him 'after feeling threatened'. The mountaineer is safe, except his puffer jacket which was quietly torn due to the attack.

As per local guide, after this season's closure of Mt. Apo for rehabilitation, the Warty Pig will be taken care of by the DENR, it will be brought back to the wild.

Mt. Apo will be closed for trail rehabilitation and will re-open on September of this year.

Bottomline is, Wild is Wild, let's respect them.
