Ryed Irish Stout - St. Patrick's Homebrew Beer Recipe

In this brewing tutorial we show you how to make the perfect Saint Patrick's Day beer, an Irish Stout with Chocolate Rye. We got this recipe from Mashmaker, a book full of homebrew recipes that's written by Michael Dawson. This beer is unique because typically barley would be used instead of rye malt. The rye should give this beer some sweetness, creamy mouth-feel, and some caramel and chocolate flavors. This is a perfect beer to pair with a meal of raw oysters, lobster, sharp cheddar, or a beef or lamb stew. We also made an upgrade to our brewing kettle for this brew day and added insulation.
