Graphing Linear Equation

Hello, welcome to today's video of the Bare Minimum Algebra (BMA) series. For today's video, I will go over graphing linear equations. This is a video that will teach you to put all your skills together from the past few videos.

In a previous video, we've learned how to plot points and graph a line. The difference in this video is we also learn how to find the line we are graphing.

Equations can be given to us in different formats. These are the steps to make the equation more recognizable so you can easily graph it.

1.) Put the equation into slope intercept form (y=mx+b)
2.) B is the y-intercept so you know one point is (0,b)
3.) M is your slope so the number in front of x is your slope. If it's a fraction, the top number is your change in y (Δy), bottom number is your change in x (Δx). From your 1st point, move y steps up or down and x steps left or right. If Δy is positive, you go up. If Δy is negative, you go down. If Δx is positive, you go right. If Δx is negative, you go left.
4.) Plot your 2nd point.
5.) Draw a line through both points.
