Create a Herringbone Pattern in Photoshop - Create a Custom Pattern

Create a Herringbone Pattern in Photoshop by making your own custom pattern tile. Herringbone can be seen in fabric and floor tiles - it is an offset tessellating pattern. Here you will see how to use the pencil tool in Photoshop to create the basic pattern tile. Then save it as a pattern and see how to use and to scale it to fill a document.

This tutorial shows how to create a wide and a narrow herringbone design and how to make it transparent so it can be easily recolored.
