The video shows creating a project in GCBASIC using PIC-AS as the assembler/linker.

Then, the video shows how to create a MPLAB-X project using the GCBASIC generated .S source file.

Then, the video shows how to compile in MPLAB-X for debugging and how to walk the program in the simulator.

Finally, editing the source in GCBASIC, seeing the changes reflected in the MPLAB-X project.... and, then, programming from MPLAB-X using a PICKit2 ( it is the same process for a PICKit3 )
