Lesson 5: Talking About Daily Activities
1. Review (5 mins)
Quickly go over:
Greetings (سلام، څنګه یې؟)
Numbers (1–10)
Basic verbs: کول (to do), تلل (to go), خوړل (to eat)
2. New Vocabulary (10 mins)
Introduce new words related to daily activities:
3. Sentence Formation (10 mins)
Teach how to make simple present tense sentences using these verbs.
Structure: Subject + Verb + Object
Examples:
زه کتاب لولم. (Za kitāb lōlum) — I read a book.
ته ښوونځي ته ځې. (Ta xhūnzy ta zey) — You go to school.
هغه ویده کېږي. (Hagha wīda kēgee) — He/She sleeps.
4. Conversation Practice (10 mins)
Pair practice or simulated dialogue:
A: ته سهار څه کوې؟ (Ta sahār tsa kawey?) — What do you do in the morning?
B: زه ويښېږم، نوېدل کوم او ښوونځي ته ځم. (Za wēxēğam, nawēdal kawom aw xhūnzy ta dẕam.) — I wake up, brush, and go to school.
5. Listening Practice (5 mins)
Play or recite short sentences in Pashto; students identify meaning.
6. Homework
Write 5 sentences about your daily routine in Pashto.
Memorize today's vocabulary.
