ABOUT THIS LESSON
In exercise 1, we will be plucking multiple strings in unison and fingerpicking non-linear lines (string skipping). One of the primary advantages for using a four finger approach is the ability to pluck multiple strings in-between fingerpicking. This can be a nice alternative to strumming. In the lesson video, I will demonstrate the difference in sound than can be achieved by using each method.
A real world example of this can be applied to our arrangement for Canon in D. Melody 2 begins interchanging between strumming chords and fingerpicking. You can create a different “feel” for the piece by incorporating the plucking of chords instead of strumming. Give it a shot!

ABOUT THE FINGERPICKING COURSE
In this course, we will demystify the magic of fingerstyle ukulele. Starting from the beginning, you will learn 3 approaches for fingerpicking designed to develop your right hand technique and dexterity. These approaches will then be applied to performance pieces intended to help you master the art of solo ukulele.
Upon completing this course, you will be able to:
1) Break out of the 1 finger rut! A.k.a: only using your index finger (or thumb) for fingerpicking and strumming.
2) Determine (on your own) which of the 3 approaches to use depending on the content of the material you are playing.
3) Begin to develop your own style for fingerpicking.
