Last summer, as John (@_dammitbobby_) planned a bikepacking trip to Niagara Falls he noticed that not many of the videos on YouTube represented him or black cyclists.
With the backdrop of the growing Black Lives Matter movement, John wondered if he could use his passion for cycling to explore, share and inspire change.
In this clip, John shares his story of riding from Mobile Alabama to D.C. and how that led him to starting a non-profit Smiles4Miles Tour aimed at providing bikes and skills to children across the country.
As we learn and celebrate #Juneteenth this year, we encourage everyone to listen to John's words and passion and question for yourself what it looks like to be a community that "comes out and comes together" and invests in the next generation.
