Digging around old cellar holes and finding artifacts and coins in NH

Digging around a colonial cellar hole for artifacts and relics is always remarkable no matter what you find. i started my day out by digging right at the lip of the cellar and dug up some china and pottery shard which is cool. How deep is the stuff in the ground is always interesting as well. This site goes back to the mid 1700s pre American revolution up until mid 1800s before the civil war so its old. With my Fisher F19 metal detector I walked the old deserted abandoned farm and found a few good finds plus a copper coin that looks to be a half penny judging by its size. Reading the landscape history because it's life after people out here we visit where the barn was and the rare stand alone root cellar and dug up some old clothing buttons. Metal detecting relic hunting old places like this is always a wonderful time and just thing about the people and history makes every find count.
