Grimshaw tracks down survivors, including Constance Merriweather (who poisoned the master who tortured her son) and young Tobias Creed (who claims the dying Master Ezekiel spoke a supernatural curse). Though some survivors mysteriously disappear afterward, leaving strange symbols behind, Grimshaw ultimately accepts his superior's decision to bury the truth and spare the survivors from prosecution.
