HRH The Prince of Wales, or The Duke of Rothesay as he is known in Scotland, attends the 2021 Grampian Highland Games and Gathering in Braemar, Scotland. The Games took place in Princess Royal and Duke of Fife Memorial Park, home of the Braemar Gathering, on Saturday August 14th. He was welcomed by The Lord-Lieutenant of Aberdeenshire, Mr Alexander Philip Manson and the chairman of the Grampian Games , Jim Brown MBE, who gives the speech.
Afterwards Prince Charles took the time to chat with the representatives of the Grampian Games, president of the Scottish Highland Games Association Charlie Murray, members of Huntly Pipe Band and many of the competitors, who had not had the opportunity to meet or compete together for the past two years. The Prince also agreed to judge some of the tug o’ war competitions, officially start the Hill Race and presented Mrs Alison Milne of Huntly with The Peter Nicol Award for over 50 years’ service to Highland dancing at Games in the North East and around Scotland.
