In this video: Summer 2024 has concluded and now we are planting for our Southern California Autumn and Winter climate. Our climate is very mild with no frost but the shorter (daylight) days means that we cannot plant certain summer-only plants. With this restriction, there are many neat plants that we can still grow. We are planting non-sweet corn. Other year-round plants that we are planting at this time include potatos (Russet Burbank, French Fingerling. & Magic Molly,) various cauliflower varieties, broccoli, and sprouting broccoli. Not in this update, we are planting other edible greens like gailan, giant mustard (gai choy), scallions, carrots, and flowers.
