In this video, we dive into the process of getting dirt delivered for our raised garden beds!
We ordered 7 cubic yards of premium vegetable soil from our local gardening shop. Figuring out how much dirt we needed was initially a challenge, but we discovered a helpful formula that made it easy: Length x Width x Depth, divided by 27. This simple calculation is essential for anyone planning a similar project.
Our raised beds measure 12 feet by 4 feet by 8 inches, so we ended up needing about 1.2 cubic yards of soil per bed. We decided to order more than enough to ensure we had plenty to work with. We also opted for delivery for an extra fee, which was absolutely worth it for the convenience.
