So I never shared this story, but the truth is, I didn’t just quit my $60,000 job but I also started working a minimum wage job at the time... but I had my reasons

How I Quit My $60,000 Job and Started my Own Business

1. When I realize College wasn’t enough
Story:
Beg: I grew up poor and my family always said education was key. So just so you guys know how poor I was. ( the size of this room right here, which can only fit a twin bed, well this was the size of our home were me, my mom and my stepdad actually slept)

Climax: When I first went to college, I thought I was making the right decision. I picked a great career in accounting which very in demand at the time, and promised an average salary of 60k starting and sometimes even 72k

Ending: However, the worst thing that happened to me, was that I started learning more than my professor wanted me to

For example, I started to read a lot of self-help books, and millionaire books. And I realized I didn’t want to be the guy that waited till 65 to start living in a tropical paradise at the hospital, while my friend Bill told me, he wishes he could go back.

What I mean:
Million Dollar equation: 60k – (tax20%) – (rent12k) – ( food/Other exps4k) = 32k ( 32 to years to millionaire)

Pro: If done correctly I could still invest most of my leftover money,

Con: but what I get married, and I have kid, or my family gets sick.

Realized: this was actually riskier than just started business.

Solution: Start a business and leverage the skills you have as an accountant

2. When I finally Graduated from College
Story:
Beg: I realized when I graduated I couldn’t take the risk of taking a full-time job as accountants

Climax: I knew if I took a full-time job, it would be 10 times harder to start my business, make youtube videos and achieve my goals

Ending: Also remember I would be spending 8-10 hours of my time with people that we're okay with the 9-5 lifestyle. ( and it scared me)

What I did: I needed two things ( so I applied for a job agency and they would hook me up with part-time jobs)

Cash Coming in:
Beg: I got a solid job at a data entry company earning around 13-15 bucks per hour

Climax: I worked there for 8 hours a day, and I spent 4 hours on commute.

Ending: I spent every extra hour reading and trying to build my business

But… eventually, that place started to break me. I stopped uploading videos on youtube ( I gave up and sold all my equipment), I stopped trying to grow my business ( I was making around 115 bucks per week )

Free time
I made 115 per week from my business
I made an extra 312 from a data entry job
If I got a film gig I would make an extra 300-400 bucks in 2 days, while working 16-18 hours per day on the weekends

3. What happened: Starting the business

Beg: There are two very important dates to remember. November 10th to December 8th. This is when my entire life changed

Climax: Before I decided to keep that job, and just keep trying to hustle. But on November 18th I got some very bad news.
My dad was sick, and I couldn’t afford to put him in the best hospital. ( I remember I only 6 thousand dollars to my name, and it took me over 1 year to save that up)
But on 18th I got some news that my dad had passed away. ( I left work, spend 3000 on getting back all my equipment, and I went to see him)
I came back around December 8th and I quit my Data entry job

Ending: now I wish I could say, this when things got a lot better, but it didn’t. I procrastinated, and I wasn’t sure of myself. ( I also gained an extra 30-40 pounds)

What happened:

Well August 2018 happened: two things took place

Youtube: This is the day I hit 2k subscribers and decided to post daily about the content I cared about. ( which was finance )
At the time I made around: $10 per year on youtube and last month I made 16k

My business: I had around 3,800 dollars in cash
Gross around 1000 bucks per week ( net was 500 bucks or so)

Today I gross: 3k per week and 1500 in profit

Remember: this happened within 3 years, and im only 22. So if you're wondering if you should go corporate or not, maybe just hold it off for a while.
