New details of the 28-meter Sanlorenzo SP92 yacht model have been introduced.
The model is the product of a collaboration between Sanlorenzo and Zuccon International Project for its exterior design, while the interior designs were designed by architect Piero Lissoni.
Defined by minimalist and clean lines, the SP92 exhibits a condensed size compared to the SP110, but maintains the same sense of balance and athleticism. The latest version similarly delivers a total of 4,000 horsepower with water jet propulsion, while offering its owners a customizable layout.
“In line with the concept underlying the Smart Performance series, the SP92 combines the characteristics of a performance yacht with unprecedented livability in both interior and exterior spaces. This model also highlights Sanlorenzo’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, one of the key growth drivers we have identified to consolidate our leadership in the sector,” Antonelli continued.
One of the most striking elements of the SP92 yacht is its aft section, which consists of a beach area of approximately 45 square metres. Its retractable door hides the garage, which can accommodate a tender with a maximum length of 3.95 metres.
The deck of the SP92 yacht is closer to the water to create a synthesis between guests and the exterior, while its superstructure is configured for the installation of solar panels. In addition, the yacht’s antennas are hidden in a hidden location to support the efficiency of the panels.
“The SP92 represents an important strategic step in realising the vision of the Smart Performance range. The boat confirms all the aspects aesthetically highlighted in the SP110 – minimalism and clean lines, aiming for a formal synthesis,” explained Bernardo Zuccon of Zuccon International Project.
The large perimeter windows of the superstructure are enhanced with a special laminated glass composition that protects the occupants from UV rays. In addition, a large aft window provides access to the yacht’s interior living spaces, which are spread over four decks.
“The only distinguishing feature is the stylistic element that defines SP’s design language: the copper-coloured wing that runs along the upper edge of the superstructure and is characteristic of the series has been further extended on the SP92, giving the yacht even more sportiness and balance. This stylistic feature serves as the most distinctive feature of the entire SP fleet, giving it energy and a strong identity,” added Zuccon.
The first floor of the motor yacht features a saloon that can be furnished in different ways, while the upper deck houses the central living area surrounded by large windows; one of these windows slides for access to the outside.
Once on the upper deck, a short corridor leads you to the guest accommodation, which consists of a full-width master suite at the bow and two twin guest cabins on either side at the stern, each with its own bathroom.
Following the same corridor towards the stern, guests are met with a fourth floor that can be converted into a games room, cinema or another cabin. In both variants, “SP92 is a floating architectural piece of architecture with very well-balanced dimensions. It is like a beautiful motorboat that extends over 90 feet and has the same driving ability and speed as a motorboat, but with the habitability and architecture of a large yacht. SP92 is a mixture of a large motorboat and a vast beach. There are double-height spaces connecting the deck with the rooms, the deck at water level, the interior blends with the exterior and vice versa,” enthuses Piero Lissoni of Lissoni & Partners / Studio Lissoni.
In terms of performance, SP92 is equipped with two MAN engines, allowing it to reach a cruising speed of 35 knots and a top speed of 40 knots.
Italian shipyard Sanlorenzo also took sustainability into account in its approach to the construction of its new SP92 yacht model, stating, “The unique hull geometries allow the drag coefficient to be optimized at commonly used speeds, minimizing fuel consumption.”
“A new ultra-high efficiency monocrystalline cell providing an average of approximately 3 Kilowatts peak per hour has been used for the photovoltaic system on the superstructure, which is stored in the service battery pack, allowing all hotel functions to be maintained while at anchor. All this allows the SP92 to consume approximately 12-13% less at cruising speed than the same boat built with traditional manufacturing processes and traditional materials. The overall result is a ‘Smart Performance’ yacht that guarantees as much environmental protection as possible,” concluded Sanlorenzo.
