Its possible to save an old e-bike that needs new batteries. Many times these older bikes can be had for cheap and sometimes free. It's not that hard to build a new battery and get back on the road. The best part is that it cheaper than replacement lead acid batteries.
I built two packs using SPIM08hp LiPo into 7s 24v packs with BMS. These packs are lighter than the the lead acid packs they replace and will provide much more power and a longer life. I hope this inspires you to save your ebike with a power pack upgrade.
