The Guyatone TO-2 is considered one of the first true tube overdrives ever made. Even today, it is placed in the ranks as being a rare pedal to run tubes at their optimum voltage, separating it from the "starved plate" design found in the majority of tube pedals currently available.

WARNING! If you plan to mod or tinker around inside this pedal, as I state in the video, it has VERY HIGH VOLTAGE! Unless you understand how to discharge capacitors and work with high voltage circuitry, do not attempt to work on this pedal. I do not take responsibility for any injuries, damages, or otherwise. Proceed at your own risk.
But, the question is: "How does it work? Is it really a true tube overdrive?" I will take a look at the schematic, and go through some of the basic tones so you can get a better idea of what this pedal is capable of.
Let me know what you think, and hope you enjoy the video!
