Ever since I purchased my 2008 F-350 I have had trouble out of the brakes. I bought it used with 30,000 miles in 2013. I didn’t even get it home before I had a brake caliper lock up. Unfortunately the dealer was not willing to work with me much. Since then I have had numerous calipers hang on long trips. Normally in traffic. Since then I have been bleeding and replacing all the brake fluid regularly. For four or five years now I have been troubled free, but the last trip to the beach I felt the shimmering once again. Luckily it never locked up and we were able to finish the trip just fine.
Now that I am always nervous a caliper will hang on a long trip. I have have decided to just replace all of them. It is time for new rotors anyway. They have never been changed and are well overdue.
After researching and comparing prices. I finally made the very reluctant decision to purchase a Callahan Performance Brake set off Amazon. The savings were almost to good to be true. At least $200! I figured what the heck. If I get a few years out of them it will be worth it.
I held this video for a few months before publishing it. I wanted to put a few miles on the truck so I could give a honest review. So far I can say the kit was money well spent. The brakes were easy to install. As well as seemingly well built. The slotted and drilled rotors make a world of difference in the stopping power. I will definitely buy this kit again and recommend others to do the same. From now on all my brake kits will come from Callahan.
I thought about doing a how to, but I am no expert mechanic. I would never want to lead anyone astray. I have had these brakes off so many times though I could about do it with my eyes closed. I hope you find this video helpful in some way. Thank you to all those who have watched, subscribed, and commented!
