It is a prepartition mansion once owned by Lala Bashishar Nath, a landlord of Pakpattan. In 1947, Bashishar Nath had to move along with his family. It was allotted tomigrant Mian Ali Muhammad Khan sahib who migrated from Bassi Umer Khan, Hoshiarpur.
Ali Muhammad Khan was gaddinasheen of shrine of Bassi Nau, Hoshiarpur.
Now Mian Mehmood Ahmad Khan (famous politician, ex MNA, ex minister) and Mian Masood Ahmad Khan (ex professor Punjab University, Lahore) live in this house. They are called Khans of Bassi Sharif (Bassi Umer Khan). They are grandsons of Mian Ali Muhammad Khan.
Ali Muhammad Khan was a famous pir who had hundreds of followers. He is buried in yard of shrine Baba Farid, Pakpattan.
