This is quite literally an assassination mission from the mission’s briefing.

Notably with this mission Commander Miller states the target is an enemy forces commander and their “client in the West” wants the enemy commander who has been too successful at stopping the guerilla attacks in the region and thwarting the insurgent operations to be “shot on site.” Which basically would aid the USA’s political intent in Afghanistan by thwarting Russia (in the game).

During this playthrough we are following Commander Miller's instructions exactly without deviation no matter how disturbing assuming that according to canon we may have a highly politically sensitive Foxhound mission entailing an assassination of an “enemy forces” military commander is occurring.

With this “woke” fan theory with strict adherence to in game canon we are in the frame of reference in regard to organizational hierarchy as

USA\DoD\CIA\***Shell_Company***\FOX\Foxhound\**Shell_Company***\DD.

Miller is canonically affiliated with Foxhound.

“Client in the West” may be Foxhound\Col. Roy Campbell. Diamond Dogs is a money minded private military corporation that will just get dissolved and a new one will spring up if they catch heat (as they say in game) which could make it likely a front for Foxhound operations.

Also, separately…. If interrogated. The target claims his innocence and shifts the blame. In game it is stated Venom/Demon/Punished Snake could suffer from auditory and visual hallucinations so during this play through we follow Commander Miller’s mission briefing exactly no matter how disturbing the play through is. If the target is extracted a cryptic comment tantamount to telling the client that you were sending the target to Outer Heaven is made. Is the client aware of Outer Heaven the military base from Metal Gear canon? Also, could this be Gray Fox canonically captured performing Operation Intrude N312 possibly undergoing “reconditioning” or “re-education”, or interrogation?

I am a fan of the awakening & hypnagogia theories, Gray Fox Theories, Virtual Reality (VR) mission training, theories about skull face, reversed videos with different characters etc.. those as well inspire various interpretations of the “memories” and the game.
