Solo Hiking the COLORADO TRAIL with My Dog | Segment 27 | Hotel Draw Road to Kennebec TH

We make our way closer to the finish line on Colorado Trail Segment 27! This segment is a lot of elevation gain, but the climbs are short and steady and almost always ending in a nice ridgeline. The segment starts in the middle of the long water carry from Segment 26, but there is great dry camping about 3 miles in with amazing views. The final miles of the segment are marked by the Indian Trail ridgelines, where you have 3 distinct climbs that can be quite daunting. Ending this segment is the drop into the beautiful Taylor Lake area, where you are greeted with crystal, clear alpine water.
