El Treparriscos (Tichodroma muraria) es un ave esquiva y discreta que habita lugares donde la predominancia de roquedos y pedregales es clara. Este ejemplar fue grabado en la Cordillera cantábrica donde durante los inviernos, cuando las nieves se ciñen sobre las montañas cantábricas y el alimento escasea en el medio natural, estas aves acuden a los pueblos de montaña para buscar en las paredes de piedra de las casas las larvas, polillas, mosquitos y demás invertebrados que tratan de sobrevivir al invierno escondidos en los huecos y grietas de las paredes, aprovechando la mayor temperatura de la que disponen estas debido a la actividad humana del interior de los hogares. Es por ello que recibe, al ser la gran mayoría de sus avistamientos durante las épocas de frío el nombre por parte de las gentes de las montañas cantábricas de Pajarina de las nieves.

This specimen was recorded in the Cantabrian Mountains where, during the winters, when the snows cling to the Cantabrian mountains and food is scarce in the natural environment, these birds flock to the mountain villages to search the stone walls of the houses. larvae, moths, mosquitoes and other invertebrates that try to survive the winter hiding in the holes and cracks in the walls, taking advantage of the higher temperature available to them due to human activity inside homes. That is why it receives, being the great majority of its sightings during the cold season the name by the people of the Cantabrian mountains of Pajarina de las Nieves.
