Elections in Bangladesh are set to take place on 12 February 2026 and India is closely watching all developments. At a time when India-Bangladesh relations remain tense, the BBC’s Ishadrita Lahiri spoke to foreign affairs adviser of Bangladesh’s interim government, Md. Touhid Hossain in Dhaka. They spoke about how Bangladesh sees its relationship with India, attacks on minorities in Bangladesh, the country’s growing closeness with Pakistan and more.
