50 years ago this week, Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins left Earth for an 8 day mission to the surface of the Moon. The Apollo mission stand as a testament to humanity's ability to problem solve, create, correct, and overcome. It still stands as one of the greatest achievements in history, and inspired countless men, women, and children around the world to push themselves to achieve their goals.
The Lego Ideas Saturn V set 21309 has 1,969 (convenient) pieces and stands over 39 inches tall. It was a blast to build, and was made even more enjoyable with my assistants Cali and Lica. I found them in 2015 covered in household cleaners. They were too young to be on their own, and their health was questionable for a few weeks. They are now full-grown, happy, and healthy. The chemicals gave them both eye damage, and left Lica almost completely blind.
