The goal of this session was to explore the Flux for the first time, experiment with processing Lyra 8 through Harvezzi Hazze, and see what kind of interesting harmonies and textures I could get out of the Lyra 4s.
—Lyra 4s—
Sequenced using Ornament 8 to play chords in sync with bass root notes. I wish they had hold gate CV inputs for external triggering. I stripped some copper speaker wire and wrapped it around the contacts to make a quick DIY solution to interface them with the ornament 8. Maybe SOMA will make an adapter someday.
FM source switches used during performance to create distorted timbres. Slow envelope mode. Moderate amounts of built in delay for texture and dimension, processed in dual mono mode through Cosmos in shortest granular mode. First impression of the Lyra 4s is that they have more stable oscillator tuning, a moderate amount of oscillator bleed within each voice pair, higher audio output levels than the lyra 8, and a delay with a slightly different timbre.

Tuned to Bm7
B D F# A
—Lyra 8—
Sequenced by Ornament 8 to play bass root notes. Slow envelope mode on B and F# for sustain alongside chords. Moderate amounts of built in delay, processed through Harvezzi Hazze, Nemesis, and Space for dimension and texture.
Tuned to B Minor B C# D E F# G A B
—Harvezzi Hazze—
Switch in center position for harsher processing. Spoil and Spread adjusted to taste to add fizzy distortion, low gain and high level with tone rolled off. Tone stack switch enabled. Adds some compression and sustain to the signal too.
—Ornament 8—
Playing a sequence using the Lyra 8 and Lyra 4s. The sequence is 4 notes outlining a B minor triad in descending order with chords playing at the same time as the root and fifth. The notes played in parallel with the chords are set to slow envelope mode for additional sustain:
High B → F# & F#m7 → D → Low B & Bm7
Cell 8 (Lyra 8 High B) → Cell 7 (rest) → Cell 5 (Lyra 8 F# and White Lyra 4 F#m7) → Cell 6 (rest)
Cell 4 (Lyra 8 Lyra 8 D) → Cell 3 (rest) → Cell 1 (Lyra Root B) → Cell 2 (rest) → Cell 8 loop
—Flux—
Used to play melodies over root note and harmony. Using the default Vox algorithm variation A, monophonic mode with 100% pitch quantization, Some added release and built in reverb. Using the 2U position of the timbral keyboard during performance to introduce FX out as FM operator + soft singing harmonics.
Audio recorded directly into iPhone16 via iConnectAudio4+ interface.
