1985 March 85G IMSA GTP w/ Porsche 2.8 Single Turbo Flat-6 Sound & Flames in action on track!

The March 85G was designed and developed in 1984 as a mid-engined sports prototype, used until 1988. It was the last evolution of the 82G chassis produced in 1981. These series of cars were characterized by a large ventilation opening between the headlights which was intended to led the air under the car and generate more downforce, but this was only partially successful.

Around ten chassis were manufactured which were later equipped with various engines based on team preferences. Some of them went to Japan and received either a Nissan single turbo 4-cylinder or a Nissan twin-turbo V6. Those racing in America were fitted with a turbocharged Buick V6, a naturally-aspirated Chevy V8 or Porsche's famous flat-6.

The 85G in this video is chassis 06 and it was built in 1985. It's powered by a Porsche Type 962/70 engine, which was Porsche's IMSA-spec flat-6 featuring a single turbocharger.
