"Unchained Melody" is a 1955 song with music by Alex North and lyrics by Hy Zaiet. North wrote the music as a theme for the prison film "Unchained".
It has been covered by numerous artists over the years including "the Righteous Brothers" in 1965 and was used in the 1990 movie "Ghost".
Elvis Presley sang this song when he was only 42 years old at a live concert in South Dacota.
It was the greatest of all time and was the last song performed by Elvis in 1977.
