Prahaar is a 1991 Indian Hindi-language action drama film written, directed by and starring Nana Patekar. The film explores the transformation of a soldier into a fearless protector of society and highlights the courage, sacrifice and harsh truths about civilian apathy.
The film was nominated for Best Story at the 37th Filmfare Awards.

Plot Summary
2nd Lt. Peter D’Souza (Gautam Joglekar), inspired by strict trainer Major V. S. Chavan (Nana Patekar), becomes a fearless commando but later dies at the hands of local goons in Mumbai. When Chavan arrives for Peter’s wedding and learns about the injustice, he takes matters into his own hands. What follows is a gripping journey of justice, courage, and rebellion against a corrupt and spineless society.

The climax courtroom monologue by Nana Patekar is considered one of Bollywood’s most powerful scenes ever filmed.
