Strike on July 19 to be held as scheduled; No postponement, no Cancellation: Jawed Bilwani

President Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI), Muhammad Jawed Bilwani, has categorically denied all rumors regarding the postponement or cancellation of the nationwide strike scheduled for Saturday, July 19. He asserted that the strike will be held as per the original schedule and under no circumstances has it been postponed or called off.
In a statement issued, Jawed Bilwani clarified that those elements who are spreading baseless rumors about the strike have absolutely no association with the movement and are not part of the consultative process. “The decision to observe a nationwide strike was taken after thorough consultation with the presidents and representatives of leading Chambers of Commerce and Industry from all four provinces of Pakistan”, he said.
He emphasized that any future decision regarding the postponement or cancellation of the strike will also be made collectively, through mutual consultation with all partner chambers who are supporting the movement.
“If there is ever a need to postpone or call off the strike, it will be announced in a formal press conference attended by representatives of all supporting chambers. No decision will be made unilaterally or behind closed doors”, he assured.
Jawed Bilwani strongly criticized those who are deliberately spreading misinformation, stating, “Those who are creating confusion and false narratives are not friends of the business community. They are trying to sabotage a unified national cause.”
He reaffirmed that the plan for a countrywide strike remains fully intact and that preparations in all regions are complete. He appealed to the entire business community, including industrialists, shopkeepers, wholesalers, and traders, to stand united and extend full support to this cause in the larger interest of the economy and the nation.
Jawed Bilwani concluded by urging the public and the business community to ignore false reports and trust only the official announcements made by KCCI and its legitimate partners in this national movement.
