Littleton’s first-ever stretch of “complete street” design opened on Euclid Avenue in August, just in time for the start of school at Euclid Middle School.
Part of the Safer Streets Littleton initiative, roadway upgrades include a 12-foot-wide shared-use path along the north side of the corridor, widened sidewalks along the south side, raised pedestrian crossings, curb extensions at intersections, and other traffic-calming elements.
This was phase one of the project, stretching from Elati Street to Cherokee Street. A second phase, stretching east to the High Line Canal Trail, will be completed in 2026.
The City of Littleton worked with Euclid Middle School to ensure the redesign aligns with pick-up and drop-off circulation patterns at the school, as well as to align construction with the upcoming Euclid Middle School bond project. On-street parking along the corridor is maintained for residents and recreation field users. Parking was balanced with multimodal needs to create a corridor that works for all users, regardless of mode.
