The 10th Winter Paralympic Games were held in Vancouver from 12 to 21 March 2010, just weeks after the conclusion of the Winter Olympics in the same city. This was the second time that Canada has hosted the Paralympics - the first such feat was in the summer edition in 1976, at Toronto, in which it began three days after the closure of that year's Summer Olympiad in Montreal.

506 para-athletes from 44 NPCs participated in the Vancouver Games; this is an increase from the 476 athletes and 39 countries who participated in 2006. They competed in 64 medal events across five para-sports.

Germany finished atop the medal standings with 13 gold medals and 24 medals overall. Russia came in second with 12 golds, but won the most medals with the total of 38, while hosts Canada had an impressive showing with 10 golds and 19 overall, and is good for third place.
