Ageism in the Beauty Industry - Anti-Aging or Positive Aging?

Ageism in the beauty industry is pervasive and has been for years. Perhaps makeup and skincare brands are deliberately ignoring and misrepresenting older women, but, regardless of the reasons, the narrative of Anti Aging has become a symbol of negativity and fear.
Some women in our community have mentioned that it is as much a way for brands to instill fear of aging in younger women so that they will buy these "anti-aging" products to ward off the actual aging process.
At Sixty and Me we would prefer to use terms like Positive Aging, Pro Aging or Aging Beautifully. There is possibly a glimmer of light given the appearance of older women on the fashion runway and the emergence of some small indie brands who are doing their best to design products (and messaging) for older women.
