LNG or Liquefied Natural Gas : primarily methane, that has been liquefied by reducing its temperature to – 160 ° C ( - 260 °F) . This is done for ease and safety of storage and transport.
On the Liquefaction plant, natural gas being cooled down to liquid form for ease and safety of non-pressurized storage or transport. It takes up about 1/600th the volume of natural gas in the gaseous state (at standard conditions for temperature and pressure)
