Growing up in France, Lionel prided himself on being driven to dive deeply into architecture and building. Years of training and education to master the craft of roof construction led to awards and major projects like fixing the roof of the Louvre Museum. In 2015, he tied the knot with the love of his life, and after years of traveling between France, Singapore and Australia, the couple decided to give South Korea a shot. While he knew he’d be confronted with some degree of cultural differences, he did not expect there to be condescending attitudes around what it means to be a construction worker, as well as what it means to be a migrant worker, in Korea.
In this episode of “Life In Korea,” get to know Lionel as he talks about his everyday life and reflects on how he ended up receiving media attention on Korean television.
