Karnataka Congress truce: CM Siddaramaiah, DyCM Shivakumar hold joint presser after breakfast meet

Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah and Dy CM DK Shivakumar held a breakfast meeting, followed by a joint press conference at the chief minister’s official residence in Bengaluru Saturday morning, indicating a temporary truce ahead of the upcoming Assembly session.

Shivakumar said: ‘Today I am very happy. Today, CM and I had a breakfast meeting. Our objective is to strengthen the Congress and the government to retain power in the 2028 assembly elections. We know our party is in a difficult stage in our country. But still, we are confident that Karnataka will have a major role, and we will repeat the mandate in 2028, we will have to work to get to power in the 2029 Lok Sabha elections under the leadership of AICC chief Mallikarjun Kharge.’

Siddaramaiah echoed similar sentiments, adding: ‘We are united. There are no differences between me and Mr Shivakumar. We have decided to listen to whatever the high command says. There is no controversy from tomorrow… There is none now either. But a section of the media has created the confusion.’
