The Persona series timeline is a subject that seems very straightforward on the surface, but gets more complex the more you look at it... It touches on Shin Megami Tensei if and Devil Summoner. As early as Persona 1 and Persona 2, alternate paths and timelines are introduced. Persona 3, Persona 4, and Persona 5 have re-releases introducing their own changes to their base stories... Then somehow the Persona story timeline loops back to being surprisingly simple. In fact, the Persona timeline becomes pretty superfluous after further examination. All entries fit in their spot. All branching paths reconverge. All bad endings are basically dead ends.
