Arch, Vault and Dome (AVD) structures are compression only topology, that is being used in ancient temples. Such construction combined with choice durable material like hydraulic lime results in extreme durability to the structure.
This is simple barrel vault construction video, executed at Aurangabad, Maharashtra in India. This vault is constructed without centering. Rampant arches are used for construction of stairways.
