Jammu Kashmir | Abdul Gani Vakil Target Omar Abdullah Government! | Daily Wagers Issue | N18V

Senior Vice President and former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil has urged the Omar Abdullah-led government to move beyond statements and take concrete action on two long-pending issues — regularisation of daily wagers (casual labourers) and allotment of 5 marla land to flood-affected poor families.


Reacting to Omar Abdullah’s recent statement about cabinet discussions, Vakil said that these matters should not remain limited to promises and deliberations. He warned that past experience shows such assurances are often made but rarely implemented.


Vakil stressed that the regularisation of daily wagers is a burning issue and must be taken up with the Central Government without delay if the government is serious. He pointed out that daily wagers are the backbone of key departments like PHE, PDD, Forest, and Irrigation, and without their labour, the system would collapse.

On the issue of 5 marla land for flood-affected families, Vakil said that real political will is needed to turn cabinet discussions into action. He added that flood-hit families deserve dignified rehabilitation and real relief, not repeated assurances.

Vakil concluded by saying that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are closely watching the government’s actions and expect timely and sincere delivery on these crucial issues.
