I bought this Schwinn AL Comp in November of 2021 with the intent of modifying it for use as a winter road bike. That plan did not come to complete fruition. So, I decided to make it a better trail bike. This included upgrading the fork to an SR Suntour XCM left over from my Polygon Siskiu. The XCM has 120mm of travel and a manual lockout. It also is 212 grams lighter than the stock fork. Not much, but it all adds up. The upgrade included a $17 Risk tapered headset adapter kit with sealed bearings. All things considered, this was a very nice upgrade for not much money.
