Full Flight: United Express CRJ-550 Chicago to Cincinnati (ORD-CVG)

Hey guys! Welcome to a very unique flight I flew on back in March and a first for the channel! In this vid, I go on United's new CRJ-550 from Chicago to Cincinnati! This aircraft is really a retrofitted CRJ-700, but you'd honestly never even know it. First off, they all sport United's new snazzy livery on the outside, but the inside is where it's completely different. There are now 3 classes on the 550: First, Economy Plus, and Economy. And instead of 70 seats, there are now 50 seats onboard. Also, gate checking bags on this bird is no more as there are extra storage bins located in between First and E Plus along with the usual overhead bins. Lastly, there is only one flight attendant compared to the usual 2 found on CRJ-700s. This last change is where I start to be a little skeptical. My flight was extremely empty so there was no problem, but I really feel that if you're on a full CRJ-550, the one FA might struggle a bit to get through all 3 classes. United tries to accommodate for this by including a self serve snack/drink bar for First Class (which is pretty cool btw on a regional jet), but I still feel for the one FA. I guess time will tell and I may be wrong, but just my opinion. As for the seats, they definitely look a lot nicer but do they feel more comfy? Not really. I do like the fact that legroom seems to be better than on most other CRJs though, and because my flight was so empty, the FA was nice enough to let me move up to the first row of Economy Plus which basically has First Class legroom. So in general, I do really like the CRJ-550 and think it's a great addition to the United fleet and a pretty cool, new concept that works well for the most part. Hope you guys enjoy!
