Because of this, the dress designers David and Elizabeth Emanuel tore up a sketch of the outfit immediately after Diana's approval. They also created a backup dress in case the original one made it into the tabloids. According to the designer, the "duplicate" looked very much like the original dress, but was much less lavish and detailed. It was made of the same silk taffeta, but without the vintage lace. But the neckline was also decorated with lush ruffles. By the way, the second dress was never finished, but luckily it was not needed.
