Two spiders living naturally in the traps of carnivorous pitcher plant Nepenthes gracilis can act as “beneficial burglars” to their host. Misumenops nepenthicola and Thomisus nepenthiphilus are both found no where else except in or around pitcher plants. Here, we record an experiment demonstrating for the first time how they help trap flying prey, which are otherwise seldom trapped by the pitcher.
