Miniseries Monday: Arthur Hailey, whose writings inspired 'Moneychangers', is responsible for 'Wheels' (1978) as well. A top-notch cast (headed by Rock Hudson and Lee Remick) brought to life Hailey's story of the automotive industry and the personal lives of its chieftains. The Orion, a cutting-edge car of the future in the book, became The Hawk in the miniseries (Hailey based this story thread on the development of the GTO). Corporate shenanigans and intrigue combined with good old-fashioned soap to produce ten hours of teevee goodness. The theme by Morton Stevens is one of his best, and his score was nominated for an Emmy.
