Core Features of HGVs
1. Hypersonic Speed

Velocity: Travel at Mach 5+ (i.e., over 6,100 km/h).
Impact: Reduces enemy reaction time and overwhelms air defenses.
2. Glide Phase Maneuverability

After being boosted to high altitudes by a ballistic missile or rocket, the HGV detaches and glides unpowered toward the target.
It can change trajectory and altitude during flight — unlike traditional ballistic missiles, which follow predictable parabolic paths.
3. Low Trajectory & Stealth

Flies at lower altitudes (compared to ballistic missiles), making it harder to detect by radar early.
Radar Cross-Section (RCS) is minimized via aerodynamic shaping (e.g., blended-body designs), enhancing stealth.
4. High Maneuverability

Capable of lateral and vertical movement at hypersonic speeds — essential to evade tracking and interception.
Offers precision strike ability even against mobile or time-sensitive targets.
5. Extended Range

Though launched via boosters, the glide phase can cover thousands of kilometers.
Ranges of 2,000 to 10,000 km depending on design and payload.
6. Nuclear & Conventional Capability

Can be configured for either nuclear or conventional warheads.
Ideal for quick, high-impact precision strikes.
