Troubleshooting and fixing a Frigidaire over / under washer that was making a horrible noise and vibration when running the dryer. The unit was nearly new (in 2025). This video shows what I saw, how I found the problem, and how I fixed it in a few minutes.
In the end, this should be as much a warning about running your dryer without a lint screen in place as it is about troubleshooting a dryer. The lint filter not only traps lint that could build up on your blower / dryer internals, it also keeps "big stuff" from making its way from the dryer drum down into your blower wheel.
While all dryers are going to be a little different, the basic design of most is similar and it's quite likely that if you have a similar noise and vibration problem, you'll find something similar to what I did!
