It's a rapidly growing problem: where to safely store our endless amounts of digital data. There just aren't enough sprawling data centers to keep up with all our baby pictures, financial transactions and funny cat videos. But now, UW scientists have partnered with Microsoft researchers to develop a technique that could solve the world's digital storage needs and transform computer technology as we know it: by storing digital data in a DNA molecule.
