Downloading and Setting up Bronkhorst FlowPlot and Flow DDE software

How to use FlowPlot and FlowDDE from Bronkhorst to control flow with an Equilibar Flow Control Valve.

In this video, Design Engineer Jennifer Jacober demonstrates how to download and set up Bronkhorst’s FlowDDE and FlowPlot software to control flow using a Bronkhorst flow meter and an Equilibar® flow control valve.

The FlowDDE and FlowPlot software assist in the electronic closed loop flow control using the built-in PID software in the Bronkhorst mini CORI-FLOW series flow meters. Flow is controlled in the range of 0 to 15 kg/hour. This software runs entirely from the flow meter. A PC or PLC is not required, but is used in the video for demonstration purposes.

The mini CORI-FLOW provides a 0 to 5 VDC drive signal to an Equilibar QPV electronic pressure regulator which translates the signal to a pilot pressure for the Equilibar FDO4 valve. The CORI-FLOW monitors the flow rate using its built-in Coriolis flow sensor and then the internal PID adjusts the command to the high resolution Equilibar QPV electronic pressure regulator, which, in turn, adjusts the pilot pressure to the FDO4 control valve and changes the flow rate. This results in closed loop flow control.
