The Duke and Duchess met Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Mrs Tutu at their legacy foundation.
They then split for the next stage of the tour.
While Meghan and Archie remain in South Africa, the Duke will board a plane to travel to Botswana for the “working visit” part of the programme.
In the afternoon, the Duchess visited the Woodstock Exchange to meet female entrepreneurs and investors working in technology, to “highlight the benefits of networking between aspiring female entrepreneurs and successful female role models”.
