Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh – Exciting New 6-Piece Band - Banna Nua!!

Multi-award-winning singer and musician Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh presents a brand-new 6-piece band, featuring some of the finest Irish musicians of their generation, joining her to celebrate and present the richness of Irish traditional music, song, and dance. Hailing from the Gaeltacht of Corca Dhuibhne, West Kerry, Muireann is one of the foremost exponents of sean nós singing, celebrated for the warmth, clarity, and expressive power of her voice.

The star-studded cast joining her on stage are some of Ireland’s finest traditional musicians:

• Michael Rooney – One of Ireland’s leading harpers and composers from Monaghan,
• Dónal O’Connor – leading fiddle player and producer from the Oriel region,
• Becky Ní Éallaithe – a gifted young sean nós dancer and concertina player from Conamara
• Neil Martin – renowned Belfast cellist, composer, and arranger,
• Mick O’Brien – legendary Dublin uilleann piper

Together, this ensemble presents a concert of the very finest traditional music, song, and dance. The programme features much-loved sean nós songs — including selections from Muireann’s critically acclaimed Róisín ReImagined — interwoven with exhilarating instrumental music and the driving rhythms of sean nós dance.

Awarded RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Singer of the Year 2022, Muireann continues to champion Irish song and music worldwide. Beyond performing, she is also an accomplished broadcaster, hosting the acclaimed Folk on One series on RTÉ Radio 1.
