Winter Backpacking in Norway | Hesten Trail in Senja

In this video we make our way to Senja by ferry and begin our journey to the Hesten trail…

We stopped at a local store by the name, ‘Fjordbotn Camping’ to rent snow shoes, which I highly recommend if you’re in the area and don’t have yours along with you!

(For this hike during winter, I 100% recommend snow shoes over micro spikes; we would have sank in the snow without them but we also had spikes just in case!)

Although it was so cold our water froze on the way up, we seemed to forget once the northern lights greeted us dancing all around the tent. All in all we made the best of our trek and had a wonderful time! I highly suggest checking this area out in the winter!!
